Kristel Oitmaa

 Kristel Oitmaa is a highly experienced expert in European innovation, research, and international cooperation. As Head of the Brussels Office of Enterprise Estonia, she works at the forefront of connecting Estonian organisations with European innovation, research, and funding opportunities. Drawing on many years of experience in Brussels, including her role as Representative of the Estonian Research Council, Kristel has played a key role in strengthening Estonia’s engagement in European Union innovation and research initiatives. Her expertise spans innovation policy, stakeholder engagement, strategic partnerships, and the development of international collaboration networks. Passionate about fostering impactful cooperation between industry, academia, and policymakers, she actively promotes the visibility and competitiveness of Estonian excellence in the European Innovation and Research Area.
Kristel is also an industrial doctoral researcher at Tallinn University of Technology’s Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance. Her research investigates the impact of health-sector innovation policy on the international competitiveness of companies.
