Timo Seppälä
PhD Timo Seppälä is a University Lecturer (Operations Management) at Aalto University. He earned his PhD in industrial economics and management. Among other things, his scholarly work has touched upon global value chains, digital platforms, and lately semiconductor industry. He serves as a chairman of the board at Koja Yhtiöt Oy & Koja Oy and member of the board at Koja USA Inc. and Chiller Oy (An Aalto Family Company).
“Contemporary digitalization: AI diffusion monitoring among S&P500 companies”
With the increasing pace of digital technology innovation and commercialization, monitoring commercial diffusion of technologies becomes more important for organizations. Technology monitoring is fundamental to R&D planning, technology management and strategic decision-making. One of the central elements of the proposed methods is the classification of the text, which currently relies on qualitative content coding. Our approach to coding leverages the insights from innovation diffusion research and it sensitized specifically to detect phases in technology adoption by organizations.
