Kári Joensen

Assistant Professor at Bifröst University

Kári Joensen is an assistant professor at Bifröst University, an economist with a professional background in research administration, economics, and quantitative methods. His research focuses in part on the potential of decentralized and cooperative models of organization within the social economy. He is also a member of the EU COST action PWILL, studying platform work and the way digital technologies are shaping labor markets, work precarity and socioeconomic inequalities.

Development projects include COPE (2020-1-SE01-KA204-077996) where a gamified curricula is used to introduce the cooperative model as an alternative for entrepreneurs active within the social economy, CT.Uni (2021-1-SK01-KA220-HED-000023022) where the aim is to support students in developing creative thinking, critical thinking and in understanding approaches such as STEAM education and trans disciplinarity. Furthermore, the project BoostEdu (2020-1-CZ01-KA226-HE-094408) produced a set of case studies for approaches in digital education, studies on blockchain applications for administrating tertiary programs.
